School Hours
Students are required to be in the
school by 8:30 a.m. The flag ceremony and assembly begin promptly
at 8:30 a.m. Students who are not in at this time are considered
tardy. Supervision is provided from 7:30 a.m. each morning. Students
should not be left earlier than 7:30 a.m.
Students are dismissed at 3:00 pm.
After School is from 3:15 - 5:30 p.m.
Monthly staff meetings are held the first Monday of every month;
all classes are dismissed at 1:00 p.m.
Special schedules and dismissals are published in the monthly
calendar.
Arrivals
From 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. car
and walking drop off should be done through the back entrance
in building "A". Gates in building "C" open
at 8:00 a.m. All gates will close at 8:30 a.m.
Dismissal
From 3:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. students
can be picked up through the back entrance, use the gate entrance
on N.E. 6 Court after 3:15 p.m.
It is the responsibility of parents
to ensure that their child is picked up at the proper time.
Each family is required to complete a dismissal form each year.
This form specifically lists all persons authorized to pick up
your child or specifies instructions for your child's dismissal.
Your child will not be released to anyone not listed on this form.
Changes to this form must be done in writing. This form is kept
on file in the school office and the school reserves the right
to require proper identification from anyone listed on the form
that is not personally known to us.
Students who are not picked up on
time will go to after School Care and the appropriate fee will
be billed monthly.
Parking
Areas
The areas designated for parking
are clearly marked. Please park in the designated areas only.
Alcohol,
Drugs and Controlled Substances
There is NO SMOKING anywhere on school
property. Any use or possession of a controlled substance or its
paraphernalia, including prescribed and over the counter medications,
is a serious disregard for school policy and law, and will not
be taken lightly. All medication must be kept in the school office
in its original container with a note from the student's doctor
and parent.
Child Abuse
and or Neglect
Each teacher is trained to observe
signs of abuse and neglect. By law all teachers are required to
report these observations to the proper authorities immediately.
Lunch Policy
Students may bring a lunch box or
purchase lunch from the school. Breakable containers, such as
glass, are not permitted. There are no facilities provided for
students to refrigerate or reheat any food. Include in the lunch
box disposable utensils, paper napkin and an ice pack. Lunches
brought in during school hours must be delivered to the school
office. Lunch is available for purchase at the school. A form
with the menu of choice has to be filled in advance and prepaid
weekly or monthly.
Promotion
and Grade Retention
If the teacher and Director feel
that a student will not profit from being promoted to the next
grade, the parents will be asked to meet with the school officials
to review the child's assessment.
Fighting
Our teachers are trained to deal
with your child and will explain in positive and kind words why
they cannot, they must not or they should no fight. Students who
are having problems with other students are to report the problem
to their teacher; children will be given enough time to deal with
the situation in a positive manner. Fighting will not be tolerated
for any reason. If this behavior persists parents are required
to come to the school to pick up their child.
Homework
The teacher according to the child's
individual learning needs and development will assign homework
to Kindergarten students.
Conduct
Certain basic rules of conduct and
manners are expected of every student. Courtesy such as offering
help, respect for others, politeness, saying please or thank you,
kindness to others, are admirable qualities that are expected
of all students. Parents or guardians will be informed in writing
if any incident of misconduct occurs.
